Success Suits Us All | A Fundraising Success

Whether they came for the cake or went for the wine, our 10th anniversary fundraising event, Success Suits Us All was a success – raising $26,000!  The event was hosted for the third year by the critically acclaimed Casa Dante restaurant in Jersey City.  The night was filled with great music from the Don Carter Jazz Trio, a wonderful three-course meal with wine accompaniment, raffles, live and silent auctions and the decadent, donated cake from the Cake Boss at Carlo’s Bakery.  But most importantly, the night was a chance for staff, board members, partners, politicians, clients and community to come together to celebrate 10 years of  Dress for Success Hudson County and our launch as the first NJ Career Gear affiliate.   Thank you all for helping us to continue moving forward with this work!  A great time was truly had by all – the proof is in the pictures!

DFS Hudson County Goes Global

In February 2010, Lillian Hernandez was a part of a New Jersey womens group that traveled to India.  In April, the Sheriff of Mumbai spent some time with us at DFS Hudson County.

June 30 2010 | FUNdraising Dinner & Fashion Show

Liberty Health and The Jersey Journal hosted a FUNdraising Dinner & Fashion Show to benefit Dress for Success Hudson County.  The event was held at the Jersey City Medical Center – with fabulous raffle prizes, silent auction, a lavish dinner menu, a runway fashion showcase featuring DFS Hudson County clients, volunteers and supporters as models – including Jersey City Medical Center CEO Joe Scott and New Jersey City University President Carlos Hernandez.   DFS Hudson County Executive Director Lillian Hernandez kicked-off the night, which was co-hosted by The Jersey Journal’s Sharon Pizziutiello, fashion designer Tyrone Chablis and DFS Hudson County’s Linda Street.  Volunteer make-up artists Pamela Barrios and Misty Easler provided runway glamour.  Models wore make-up donated by LAMIK Beauty and debuted the new LAMIK Sweet Success | DFS Hudson County fundraising signature lipgloss.  The runway fashions were accented fabulously with handpicked pieces from Camille Cesari Jewelry.  Indeed a great time was had by all!   Here’s a glimpse with more pics to follow!
