PWG
The mission of the Professional Womens Group (PWG) is to provide our network of employed Dress for Success women the partnership of support, practical information and inspiration to achieve self-defined success in career and life.
Simply getting a job is one thing, keeping the job is another issue. Providing power suits gives women a boost of confidence and helps them make an excellent first impression. However, landing the job is just the first step. Women making the transition from welfare to work or re-entering the workforce after an extended absence face a myriad of challenges, from understanding corporate culture to handling personal finances, often without support.
The Professional Women’s Group provides a safe environment where members can learn how to exchange ideas and continue to develop their professional skills. Women attend seminars, gain access to benefits such as professional publications and help maintain the infrastructure and support system of an international networking organization.
Invited speakers and volunteers from varied professional backgrounds and community leaders present training programs and seminars on critical topics, including child care options, affordable housing, financial literacy, saving for the future, credit management, nutrition, stress management, understanding how to file taxes, as well as continuing education and small business opportunities.
Monthly meetings and events provide a support infrastructure for those who have obtained employment. The PWG is a close knit networking group comprised of motivated, hard working clients seeking to connect and gain support in a group setting.
Ways To Get Involved with PWG | The success of PWG is based largely in part on our ability to provide a dynamic, engaging and thriving environment for our members. Here’s how you can help:
• Volunteer as a seminar speaker sharing your own work/life experience
• Host an interactive or hands-on workshop on any topic of the moment ranging for social networking to health and beauty
• Sponsor lunch for a meeting
• Provide give-aways for members as a great way to advertise your business
